India’s archery contingent delivered a spectacular performance at the Asian Games 2026, clinching two gold medals in compound events on Wednesday.
The highlight came when the compound mixed team pair of Chikitha Taniparthi and Sahil Jadhav defeated Korea in a tense shoot‑off to secure the gold medal. Their victory also earned India a quota place for the 2028 Olympics, adding extra significance to the triumph.
Earlier in the day, the Indian women’s compound team also struck gold, successfully defending the crown they had won in the previous edition of the Games in Hangzhou. With both teams retaining their titles, India reaffirmed its dominance in compound archery at the continental level.
