The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu is set to open a satellite campus in Leh, Ladakh, expanding access to management education in the Union Territory.
The Ladakh administration and IIM Jammu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday to establish the new campus. The agreement was signed in the presence of Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, officials said.
The satellite campus will initially offer a four-year BBA (Honours) programme with an intake of 60 students. Classes for the programme are scheduled to begin in October 2026.
According to officials, the campus infrastructure was established within just two months after the Ladakh Administration and IIM Jammu took up the initiative.
The new campus is expected to provide students in Ladakh with greater access to management education without requiring them to move to other parts of the country for an undergraduate programme.
The initiative also marks an expansion of IIM Jammu’s academic presence beyond its main campus and is aimed at strengthening opportunities for higher education in the Union Territory.
