The Andhra Pradesh government has increased the upper age limit for direct recruitment to non-uniform government services from 42 to 44 years. The relaxation will remain effective until September 30, 2027.
The decision was issued through G.O. Ms. No. 187 after job aspirants submitted several representations seeking additional opportunities amid delays and gaps in government recruitment.
The move is expected to benefit thousands of candidates who were nearing or had crossed the earlier upper age limit. The timing is particularly significant as the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) is scheduled to begin recruitment applications from October 6, 2026, for 892 posts, including 163 Group-I vacancies.
However, the relaxation does not apply uniformly to all government jobs. Candidates applying for uniformed services remain outside the scope of the latest age-limit extension, leading some aspirants to seek a similar increase for these posts.
The revised age limit provides eligible candidates with an additional window to participate in upcoming recruitment drives. Aspirants are advised to check the specific eligibility conditions mentioned in individual APPSC recruitment notifications before applying.
