Malaika Arora has previously shared a homemade shake that she prefers over protein powder-based drinks. The actor spoke about the recipe while discussing her daily eating habits on Soha Ali Khan’s podcast All About Her.
According to Malaika, she prefers carrying food with her and focuses on home-cooked, balanced meals. When she wants a shake, she said she prepares it at home rather than using protein powder.
Her version includes simple ingredients such as dates, bananas and nuts, which are blended together to make a homemade drink. A recent recipe shared by wellness coach Shweta Parasrampuria was inspired by Malaika’s approach and included several additional ingredients.
The recipe uses soaked peanuts, almonds, cashews, roasted chana and seedless dates blended with a cup of soy or almond milk. Pistachios, almonds and saffron can also be added for extra flavour.
The ingredients provide a combination of carbohydrates, fats and plant-based protein, although the nutritional value of the drink will depend on the quantities and ingredients used. A homemade shake should also be viewed as one part of an overall diet rather than a guaranteed fitness solution.
Malaika has also frequently spoken about maintaining an active lifestyle and has shared yoga routines on social media. One of her previously shared routines included four yoga poses aimed at relieving stiffness around the hips and lower back.
Her no-protein-powder shake offers one example of how nuts, seeds, fruit and plant-based milk can be combined into a homemade beverage.
