At 83, Amitabh Bachchan’s fitness routine continues to draw attention for one simple reason: consistency. According to celebrity fitness coach Shivohaam, the veteran actor has followed a largely unchanged exercise routine for nearly 26 years.

Speaking during a podcast conversation, Shivohaam discussed the long-standing association between Bachchan and fitness coach Vrinda Grover. He said Grover has trained the actor for around 26 years and has now incorporated yoga into his routine.

Despite the passage of time, Bachchan’s basic workout structure has remained consistent. His warm-up, the sequence of machines and the overall order of his exercises have reportedly stayed largely the same. Some modifications have been made, particularly to support leg strength.

The approach highlights an important principle of healthy ageing and fitness: consistency can matter as much as intensity. A routine that is sustainable and adapted to changing physical needs may help people remain active over the years.

Bachchan’s fitness journey also demonstrates that exercise habits do not necessarily need to change completely with age. Instead, routines can be adjusted according to individual requirements while maintaining familiar movements and structure.

For older adults, however, exercise plans should be personalised based on health, mobility and fitness levels. Professional guidance can be useful when introducing strength training, yoga or other forms of physical activity.

Bachchan’s decades-long commitment offers a straightforward takeaway: building a routine is one thing, but maintaining it consistently over time can make a significant difference to an active lifestyle.
