A peaceful protest by Uttar Pradesh Primary Teacher Recruitment (PRT) aspirants has been announced for September 17, 2026, in Lucknow. The proposed demonstration will take place at SCERT, Nishatganj, with participants seeking the inclusion of additional vacant teaching posts in the upcoming recruitment process.

According to the organisers and aspirants promoting the demonstration, the primary demand is that the government should send requisitions for vacant posts in rural areas and include those positions in the recruitment notification. Aspirants are seeking a larger number of vacancies, with campaign material referring to a potential target of around 60,000 posts.

The development comes after another protest reportedly held on September 10, which organisers claim received coverage from state and national media as well as social media platforms. They have linked that campaign with the subsequent announcement of more than 12,000 posts.

However, claims regarding the number of additional posts that could be included through further recruitment decisions remain subject to official government notifications and approvals.

The latest campaign is encouraging PRT aspirants to participate in the September 17 gathering and raise their demand for vacant rural posts to be included in the recruitment process.
