A controversy surrounding Malayalam actor Manju Warrier has taken a satirical turn after her brother, actor-director Madhu Wariar, responded to filmmaker Sanal Kumar Sasidharan’s claims about her safety.

Sanal Kumar has alleged that Manju is being held captive by a crime syndicate, prompting concern and discussion on social media. In response, Madhu shared a humorous post featuring a photograph of himself with Manju, their mother, his wife and daughter.

In the post, Madhu sarcastically described the family’s supposed visit to “see Manju, who is in captivity.” He joked that they brought their small dog Coco with them, fearing that those allegedly holding Manju captive might attack them.

Continuing the satire, Madhu wrote that the family was shocked to find Manju “sitting at gunpoint,” while joking that Coco took several seconds to react because she was distracted.

The post appeared to mock the allegations while also conveying that Manju was safe and with her family.

Manju herself also appeared to indirectly address the controversy by commenting on Madhu’s social media post. Her response added another layer to the public reaction surrounding the filmmaker’s claims.

The controversy comes amid renewed attention on Sanal Kumar Sasidharan, who has previously made public allegations concerning Manju Warrier. The latest claims have generated discussion among Malayalam cinema audiences, while Manju’s family has responded by publicly dismissing the situation through humour and satire.
