The plan includes district‑level protest marches, public meetings, a march to the Election Commission headquarters, and a joint appeal to the Chief Justice of India for expedited hearings in cases related to alleged electoral “malpractices.”

The decision was taken after a three‑and‑a‑half‑hour meeting at the Constitution Club of India, attended by 33 leaders from 19 political parties, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti, Mamata Banerjee, Supriya Sule, and others. Independent MP and senior lawyer Kapil Sibal also participated, underscoring the legal dimension of the opposition’s strategy.

Congress President and Rajya Sabha LoP Kharge said the campaign aims to “safeguard democracy” and hold the Election Commission accountable for alleged irregularities in voter roll revisions. The bloc’s coordinated agitation signals a major escalation in opposition pressure ahead of upcoming elections.
