The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards celebrated the biggest television performances and productions from the 2025-26 season, with The Pitt, Widow’s Bay, Hacks and Pluribus among the major winners.

Held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, the ceremony was hosted by Mariska Hargitay. The Pitt took home the Outstanding Drama Series award for the second consecutive year, while Noah Wyle repeated his win for Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Rhea Seehorn won Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Pluribus.

In comedy, Widow’s Bay won Outstanding Comedy Series and also picked up acting awards for Matthew Rhys, Stephen Root and Kate O’Flynn. Jean Smart won Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Hacks, securing her fifth consecutive Emmy for the role.

Matthew Rhys also won Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for The Beast in Me. DTF St. Louis won Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, while Sally Field was recognised for Remarkably Bright Creatures.
