The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced that its upcoming protest on October 10 in Delhi will be conducted peacefully, urging citizens committed to free and fair elections to join the agitation if Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar does not resign.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke emphasised non‑violence as the cornerstone of the movement, calling on students, activists, and ordinary citizens to unite in defence of democracy. “Our fight is for transparency and fairness, not confrontation,” he said, stressing that the protest would remain disciplined and peaceful.

The CJP has been demanding Kumar’s resignation, citing alleged irregularities in electoral processes and the conduct of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. The party argues that these irregularities undermine voter rights and compromise the credibility of India’s democratic institutions.

The October 10 protest is expected to draw significant participation, with organisers highlighting the importance of collective action to safeguard electoral integrity. Security arrangements are likely to be tightened around Jantar Mantar, the symbolic protest site in Delhi, as authorities prepare for large crowds.

The call for non‑violent mobilisation reflects the CJP’s strategy of combining mass participation with Gandhian principles, aiming to pressure the Election Commission while maintaining public trust.
