Shaque Trust No One begins with a disturbing mystery: a newborn baby disappears from a hospital, leaving the mother devastated and determined to keep searching for her child.
The premise has enough emotional and investigative potential to sustain the seven-episode Netflix series, with episodes running for roughly 35 to 45 minutes. The series marks Parineeti Chopra’s web-series debut and brings together creator Rensil D’Silva, co-creator Sidharth P Malhotra and director D’Silva.
Chopra plays a mother whose search continues long after the initial disappearance. Her character is driven by grief, persistence and the refusal to let the case become a forgotten chapter in her life.
According to the review, the actor’s committed attempt to appear natural and remain at the centre of the narrative comes at the expense of some of the supporting elements. Several characters and story threads consequently feel less developed than the central mystery warrants.
The setting also gives the series a distinct advantage. Set in Shimla, the show uses a recognisable real-world location rather than relying on another fictional town, adding atmosphere to the unfolding investigation.
