Motorola has showcased its upcoming Signature 27 flagship with high-end hardware, including Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera and seven years of operating system updates.
The smartphone was unveiled at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii and is among the first announced devices to feature the company’s latest flagship chipset. Motorola has not yet announced the price or exact launch date, but the Signature 27 is expected to launch globally later this year.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is designed to improve several areas, including on-device artificial intelligence, camera performance, gaming responsiveness and download speeds. Motorola is pairing the processor with its ArcticMesh thermal system, which combines diamond-infused thermal gel, liquid metal, copper mesh and a redesigned 3D vapour chamber. The company says the new vapour chamber is 40% larger than the previous generation.
For photography, the Signature 27 will feature a 50MP Sony LYTIA 910 main camera alongside a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. Motorola is also introducing a Video Enhancement Engine that uses AI to analyse scenes and adjust colour tones during recording.
The phone is expected to run Android 17 and receive seven years of OS upgrades. It will also feature Audio by B&O, marking Motorola’s first smartphone with the audio branding.
The Signature 27 will be offered in Pantone Coal Smoke and Pantone Capulet Olive finishes. Motorola has yet to reveal details about the display, battery, charging, RAM, storage, additional cameras, price and exact launch date.
