India’s athletes delivered a stellar performance at the Asian Games 2026, clinching multiple medals across shooting and martial arts.

In the men’s 10m air rifle individual event, Himanshu Dhillon won silver with a score of 252.4, while Rudrankksh Patil secured bronze with 230.9, giving India a double podium finish. Earlier, the trio of Dhillon, Parth Mane, and Patil bagged silver in the team event, scoring 1890.1, just behind China’s 1899.0.

India’s medal tally grew further in Mixed Martial Arts, where Suchika Tariyal fought valiantly to claim bronze in the women’s 60kg traditional semi‑final, despite a 0‑2 loss to Singapore’s Hui Hoon Toe.

This comes after a strong showing by the women’s shooting contingent, with Elavenil Valarivan, Vidarsa Vinod, and Sonam Maskar winning silver in the team event, while Elavenil also clinched silver in the individual category, finishing just behind Japan’s Hinata Taichi.

India’s consistent performances across disciplines highlight the nation’s growing strength in both shooting and combat sports, setting the stage for more podium finishes in the days ahead.
