Chennai will host the Chennai chapter of EDNXT 2026 on December 10, bringing together education leaders, policymakers, industry representatives and technology innovators to discuss the changing landscape of higher education.

The event, themed “The Gateway South: Powering a Rising India through Education & Tech,” will focus on how universities can become more technology-driven, industry-connected and globally oriented. Key discussions will cover artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, skilling, research and the future workforce.

The summit comes as Tamil Nadu places greater emphasis on education and technology as part of its long-term economic strategy. The state’s 2026–27 Budget allocated ₹44,527 crore to school education and ₹8,393 crore to higher education. The government has also outlined initiatives to expand AI and machine-learning training for young people.

Chennai’s growing technology and Global Capability Centre ecosystem further strengthens the relevance of industry-academia collaboration. Recent investments and GCC expansion in the city have highlighted demand for specialised technology talent.

EDNXT Chennai is expected to feature more than 50 speakers, 200 higher-education dignitaries and 10 knowledge sessions. The programme will also showcase AI-enabled campuses, digital learning models and industry-led approaches to preparing students for emerging careers.
