Indian athletes delivered a stellar performance on Day 6 of the Asian Games 2026, adding five medals to the country’s tally and taking the overall count to 17 medals.

The day began with rowers Satnam Singh and Salman Khan making history by clinching bronze in men’s double sculls, India’s first medal in the event. In wushu, Roshibina Devi secured silver in the women’s 60kg sanda, her third Asian Games medal after a bronze in 2018 and silver in 2023.

Later, shooters Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal added a skeet shooting bronze, while long‑distance runner Seema powered through to claim bronze in the women’s 10,000m final, carrying the Indian flag with pride.

The highlight of the evening came in athletics, where Vithya Ramaraj, Povamma M, and Manu T teamed up to win silver in the 4x400m mixed relay, showcasing India’s growing strength in track events. Meanwhile, sprinters Animesh Kujur and Gurindervir Singh qualified for the men’s 100m semifinals, while Asha Ilango and Niharika Vashisht finished 4th and 10th respectively in the women’s triple jump final.

India’s Day 6 campaign reflected resilience across disciplines — from rowing and wushu to shooting and athletics — keeping hopes alive for more podium finishes in the days ahead.
